Installation of the program.
NetMeeting is actually already installed in Windows XP/2003 after you perform a full install, but it won't appear on the Start menu until it's activated.
After that it is necessary to start up the installator
and to install NetMeeting. After that reboot the computer.

You can load the latest version of the installator Microsoft NetMeeting from:
To activate NetMeeting:
a) Click Start, then Run, and enter Conf
b) Click OK.
c) In the NetMeeting Wizard, supply the necessary information, and then select the Put a shortcut to NetMeeting on my desktop.
If NetMeeting was already installed on your computer, you need to check
its version. For that you need to start-up NetMeeting and select in
Help menu -> About program NetMeeting (Help -> About program NetMeeting).
After that you should pay attention to version number.
If it is 3.0 or lower, you unambiguously need to update NetMeeting by
the way of loading of its latest version and installation.
Normal functioning of telephone service with the version 3.0 is
impossible because NetMeeting 3.0 contains mistakes. There are no
problems with the version 3.1.
We recommend to use NetMeeting 3.1 (buid 4.4.3396)
Update of NetMeeting version is completely similar to its usual installation.
Don't forget to close NetMeeting before beginning update for that
program-installator could update its normally.
For adjustment of NetMeeting the data, which you have obtained at
registration, are used. Therefore you need first to register through
home page of our site and replenish the balance.
Than do step-by-step:
- Start up NetMeeting
- Select in menu Tools -> Options
- Select tab General
- Fill fields Name/Surname (First Name/Last Name)
- Fill the field e-mail
- Select [X] "Do not list my name in directory"
- Deselect [ ] Log on to a directory server when Windows starts
- Press the button "Bandwidth Settings"
- Select (o) 28800 or faster modem
- Press OK
- Press the button "Advanced Calling"
- Select [X] "Use gatekeeper to place calls"
- Type IP address 64.15.132.177 in the field "Gatekeeper"
- Deselect [ ] "Log on using my account name"
- Select [X] "Log on using my phone number"
- In the field Phone number type your ID number, issued at registration
- Press OK
- Select in the top tab "Audio"
- Select [X] "Enable full-duplex audio so I can speak when receiving audio"
- Deselect [ ] "Enable auto-gain control"
- Deselect [ ] "Automatically adjust microphone volume while in call"
- Select [X] "Enable DirectSound for improved audio performance"
- Select (o) "Let me adjust silence detection myself"
- Move regulator to extreme right position
- Press the button "Advanced"
- Select [X] "Manually configure compression settings"
- In the field "Preferred codec for audio compression settings" select Microsoft G.723.1,8kHzMono,6400Bit/s
- Press OK
- Select tab "Video" in the top
- Deselect [ ] "Automatically send video at start of each call"
- Deselect [ ] "Automatically receive video at start of each call"
- Press OK
If NetMeeting is normally adjusted then at starting it displays no
mistakes about registration on server and main program menu appears.
In the line at the left of the button with telephone you enter
telephone number in international format, including own prefix in front
of it. After that you press Enter or button with the telephone.
At that dialing and conversation with remote telephone user take place.
After conversation ending you terminate it pressing the button with
telephone icon with down arrow.
